NetEase just dropped the Season 6.5 patch notes and things are about to get wild. We’re getting Elsa Bloodstone as our next Duelist on February 13th. She’s bringing shotguns, traps, and a literal charging monster to the game.
But that’s not all. Thor’s getting nerfed (finally), some Duelists are getting buffed, and the Fantastic Four Team-Up is completely gone. Yeah, you read that right.
I’ve gone through all the patch notes and here’s everything you need to know before Season 6.5 drops this Thursday.
Table of Contents
When Does Season 6.5 Drop?
Mark your calendar for February 13, 2026. The update goes live around 11 AM UTC.
Here’s what that means for your timezone:
If you’re in New York, it’s 6 AM EST. West Coast players get it at 3 AM PST. Europe gets it at noon CET. Japan gets the update at 8 PM JST.
Good news though – there’s no server downtime. You just download the patch and jump straight in.
Elsa Bloodstone – The New Monster Hunter Duelist
Elsa’s the 47th hero in Marvel Rivals and she looks absolutely nuts. She’s a Duelist who rewards aggressive play and punishes teams that clump up.
How Her Kit Works
Her Passive (Hunter’s Instinct): The more damage you deal, the faster your abilities come back. It’s like a snowball mechanic. Pop off and you’ll have abilities for days. But here’s the catch – dying resets everything. So you need to stay alive to keep the momentum going.
Her Weapons: This is where it gets interesting. Elsa can swap between three different guns mid-fight.
She’s got an Elephant Gun that works like a shotgun. It hits hard up close. Then there’s her Monster-Hunting Rifle for long range picks. And she’s got a pistol for quick shots when you need them.
You basically switch weapons based on range. Enemy in your face? Shotgun them. Sniper on the high ground? Pull out the rifle. It’s that simple.
Diablo’s Trap (E Ability)
Elsa drops a trap that releases a smoke monster called Diablo. Anyone who steps in it gets frozen in place. It’s perfect for locking down that annoying Strategist in the backline or stopping a diving Vanguard.
I can already see the combo potential. Trap someone, switch to shotgun, delete them. Or use it on the point during overtime. Gonna be filthy.
Glartox Charge (Ultimate)
Her ult summons Glartox. It’s this massive monster that charges forward and bites everything in its path. If the enemy team groups up, you can wipe half of them with one ult.
Think of it like D.Va’s mech charge but it actually kills people instead of just booping them around.
How to Play Her
Elsa wants you to play aggressive. Build your passive by dealing damage. Use your mobility to get in and out of fights. Trap key targets. Don’t die or you lose all your stacks.
She’s not gonna be easy to master but good Elsa players will dominate games. Bad ones will feed and wonder why their abilities are always on cooldown.
Hero Balance Changes – Who Got Better and Who Got Worse
Vanguards
Doctor Strange: They slowed down his shield regen a bit (70 to 60 per second). But he got a cool new trick with his Cloak. You can now cancel it mid-flight and change direction. That’s actually huge for dodging abilities.
Thor: About time. Thor’s been too tanky for too long. Now when he throws his hammer and hits someone, he only gets 50 bonus health. Doesn’t matter if he hits one person or five – it’s just 50. He’s still strong but not immortal anymore.
Duelists
Wolverine: He got buffed but NetEase didn’t share the exact numbers. Probably survivability or damage. We’ll find out on the 13th.
Rogue: Her Defensive Stance is way better now. She converts absorbed damage into energy faster (0.27 to 0.35). And Fatal Attraction cooldown went from 17 seconds down to 14. She’s gonna be scary.
Strategists
Rocket Raccoon: His healing drone can now go 35 meters before it detaches (used to be 30). Doesn’t sound like much but it gives you more freedom to position aggressively.
Storm and Venom: Both got buffs. Storm’s ult charges faster. Venom hits harder and survives longer. Details are light but these are welcome changes.
Team-Up Changes – RIP Fantastic Four
Okay so this is wild. NetEase completely removed the Fantastic Four Team-Up. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben don’t have their special synergy anymore.
But we’re getting new Team-Ups to replace it.
Psionic Mayhem (NEW)
Invisible Woman teams up with Doctor Strange now. When Strange uses his ult, it actually pulls enemies toward him. And any damage dealt during the pull heals Strange and nearby allies.
This combo is gonna be insane for point fights. Pull everyone in, heal your team while you damage theirs. I love it.
Mr. Pool’s Interdimensional Toy Box (UPDATED)
Deadpool, Jeff, and now Elsa Bloodstone. When you activate this, Elsa gets Bloodstone’s Boombox Bullets. Her shots damage enemies AND heal her at the same time.
Oh and enemies have to listen to Deadpool talking the entire time. Not sure if that’s a buff or a war crime.
Gamma Gauntlets (UPDATED)
Hulk and The Thing team up. Thing gets Gamma Gauntlets which boost his attack range and give him bonus health. Two tanks who hit like trucks working together. Frontline is gonna be rough.
Rocket Network / Fantastic Amplifier (UPDATED)
Rocket, Star-Lord, and Mr. Fantastic. Reed gets the Fantastic Amplifier which lets him go past his normal 100 Elasticity cap. You can trigger it manually when you need that extra stretch.
I’m still figuring out what this means in practice but more flexibility is always good.
Valentine’s Day and Spring Festival Events
Love on Parade (Feb 14)
They’re doing a Valentine’s event with Gambit and Rogue. There’s gonna be a wedding parade in Times Square. You can get free cosmetics and rewards just for logging in.
Honestly it’s cute. Marvel Rivals knows how to do events right.
Spring Festival
Lin Lie (Iron Fist) does a traditional lion dance. You watch it, you get special currency. Easy rewards for showing up.
What This Means for the Meta
Here’s my take on where things are headed.
Duelists Are Getting More Aggressive
With Elsa, buffed Wolverine, and stronger Venom, the Duelist role is shifting toward frontline pressure. No more sitting back and poking. You need to get in there and build momentum.
Passive Duelists are gonna struggle. Aggressive ones will dominate.
Thor Might Actually Be Balanced Now
Thor’s been a must-pick for weeks. The nerf isn’t massive but it’s enough. He can’t just face-tank everything anymore. Good Thor players will adapt. Bad ones will feed.
Team Comps Are Changing
Losing the Fantastic Four Team-Up is huge. Sue and Reed are splitting up for now. We’ll see new team comp strategies built around Psionic Mayhem and the updated Team-Ups.
Doctor Strange might become more popular with his new Invisible Woman synergy. That pull-and-heal combo is no joke.
Support Players Got a Little Love
Rocket’s extra range is nice. Storm’s faster ult is great for clutch plays. These aren’t game-breaking buffs but they help.
Strategists still need more attention but at least NetEase is looking at them.
My Honest Thoughts on Season 6.5
I’m actually pretty hyped for this patch. Elsa looks fun as hell to play. The meta needed a shake-up and we’re getting it.
Thor nerf was necessary. He’s been too strong for too long. Doctor Strange’s new mobility option is sick. Rogue buffs are welcome – she deserves to be strong.
The Team-Up changes are controversial. Some people are mad about Fantastic Four getting removed. But honestly? The new Team-Ups look way more interesting.
Only complaint is we still don’t have enough details on some buffs. “Wolverine received meaningful buffs” tells me nothing. Give us numbers, NetEase.
Tips for Day One
When Season 6.5 drops on Thursday, here’s what you should do.
First, try Elsa in quick play before you take her to ranked. Learn her weapon swaps. Figure out trap placements. Don’t be that person who instalocks a new hero in comp and feeds.
Second, adjust to the Thor changes. If you main Thor, practice playing safer. If you play against Thor, pressure him more – he’s squishier now.
Third, experiment with the new Team-Ups. That Doctor Strange and Invisible Woman combo especially. Could be meta-defining.
Fourth, grab those free Valentine’s rewards on the 14th. Why not?
last Words
Season 6.5 drops February 13 with Elsa Bloodstone, hero balance changes, new Team-Ups, and Valentine’s events. It’s a solid mid-season update that should keep things fresh.
The meta’s shifting toward aggressive play. Momentum matters more. Positioning matters more. If you’re the kind of player who pops off, this patch is for you.
I’ll be grinding Elsa all weekend. See you in the Timestream.
